Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho is planning an ambitious swap that will see Chelsea veteran Frank Lampard move to Real Madrid in exchange for Real Madrid’s Esteban Granero.

Mourinho, as per reports, is looking forward to swap the former under-21 Spain international for the England international but it is still to be seen if Chelsea agrees to such an outrageous offer.

Lampard, 33, is said to be having a tough time at the club under the management of new boss Andre Villas-Boas and has only recently admitted that he cannot understand why he is being left out of Chelsea's starting line-up. He also said that the boss hasn’t provided any clear explanations to justify his decision. The Englishman came off the bench on Monday to score Chelsea’s winning goal against Manchester City in a 2-1 win.

The player has now been left out of the first team for the second successive game although he had started in five of the Blues' previous six games. However, midfielder Granero has been valued at £6 million and both Arsenal and Liverpool are interested in signing him next month, according to a Caughtoffside report.

Frank Lampard, who was named the Premier League's Player of the Decade by official statistics in 2009 and is a three-time Chelsea Player of the Year, has made an amazing 530 appearances for the Blues and has managed to score 178 times.
