BEIJING (Commodity Online) : World's second largest oil consumer, China imported 18.51 million tons of crude oil in February this year, according to General Administration of Customs of China.

In a statement issued here, GAC said this was equal to 4.8 million barrels per day and is up 59.6 percent year on year.

China produced 15.11 million tons of crude oil in February, or about 3.96 million barrels per day, 5.8% more than in the same month of last year.

The country's total crude oil output in the first two months of this year was 31.98 million tons, up 5.8% year on year, said the National Bureau of Statistics.

In February, China imported 474,412 tons of liquefied natural gas, 42% more than in the same period a year earlier. Natural gas imports during the month were 42,821 tons.
