Stockpiles of imported iron ore at major Chinese ports rose 1.54 percent to 75.28 million tonnes this week, the fourth consecutive weekly increase, industry consultancy Mysteel said on Friday.

Australian ores accounted for 28.41 million tonnes, up 3.3 percent compared with last week.

Ores from Brazil reached 18.83 million tonnes, up 480,000 tonnes on the week.

Iron ore from India rose 360,000 tonnes to 12.27 million tonnes, Mysteel said.

Buyers have been ordering more iron ore in January to build up stockpiles before the Lunar New Year holiday at the beginning of February.
