Christina Hendricks, best known for her dangerous curves and sultry red hair from "Mad Men," has allegedly been cast in Ryan Gosling's directorial debut, Gawker reported.

As the Huffington Post so aptly put it about the viral meme, "Hey girl: Ryan Gosling is a director now."

His screenplay will be turned into a major motion picture and he wanted Hendricks as his leading lady.

"I am very appreciative to Marc Platt, Adam Siegel and Bold Films for being so supportive and I look forward to making this film with all of them," Gosling said in a statement.

Platt had kind things to say about the actor also:

"We are thrilled to be producing Ryan Gosling's debut as a writer and director and continue our collaboration which began on 'Drive,'" said Platt, in a statement. "He has composed a beautifully haunting script and has a very clear vision of how he will bring it to life. His ability to draw audiences into his world as an actor will serve him well as a filmmaker."

The movie, to be called "How To Catch A Monster," is described as a "modern-day fairytale."

The Hollywood Reporter gave a synopsis:

"'How to Catch a Monster' weaves elements of fantasy noir with suspense to create a modern day fairytale set against the surreal dreamscape of a vanishing city. Hendricks (Mad Men) would play Billy, a single mother of two who is swept into a macabre underworld, while her teenage son discovers a secret road leading to an underwater town."

"There's no one really like her," Gosling said of Hendricks in a press release. "She's very meticulous about every detail." Gosling became familiar with Hendricks' work ethic when they filmed Nicolas Winding Refn's acclaimed neo-noir crime drama "Drive" together.

"How To Catch A Monster" is set to start filming in the spring of 2013 and according to Gawker the film is going to be shopped at the Toronto International Film Festival to foreign distributors next week.
