China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) and Qatar Liquefied Natural Gas Company and Shell Group signed an LNG Sale and purchase agreement at SGT April 10.

Under this Agreement the Forth Qatar Natural Gas Project will supply 3 million tons of LNG per year for the LNG terminal of CNPC for 25 years. The Supply will start when the Output and receiver system put into commercial operation.

China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) also signed a framework agreement with Qatar Liquefied Natural Gas Company on the purchase of liquefied natural gas. Under the agreement, CNOOC will buy 2 million tons of LNG per year from Qatar.

Qatar as the largest exporter of liquefied natural gas plans to expand its annual output to 77 million tons LNG in 2010. Some Chinese Companies had also signed LNG long-term supply project agreements with LNG projects of Australia, Indonesia and Malaysia before.
