Four alleged drug smugglers who authorities say hid millions of euros of cocaine in banana boxes have been arrested in the Netherlands.

Dutch authorities arrested the four men on Wednesday, when the alleged drug smugglers tried to pick up the cocaine hidden in banana boxes from a shed in Weesp near Amsterdam, according to Agence France-Presse. The cocaine was being smuggled from Colombia.

Police were able to nab the suspects after locating the shipment on Monday. The boxes were aboard a ship that sailed from Colombia. The men are expected to make a court appearance on drug-related charges on Friday.

"It was decided to remove the cocaine but leave the bananas to see who would come to fetch it,” the public prosecutor's office said in a statement.

The cocaine has an estimated value of about 30 million euros, or $40 million.
