ConocoPhillips said on Monday it reduced rates at its 238,000-barrel-per-day Bayway refinery in Linden, New Jersey, after a fire early Sunday morning in the crude distillate unit.

Although the crude unit has been safely shut down, the refinery continues to run at reduced rates, said Bill Stephens, a spokesman for the company. (Reporting by Janet McGurty)
