French haute couture fashion designer Jean-Paul Gaultier has reportedly provided a fashionable way for bullion investors to diversify holdings and hedge against inflation.

Gaultier, known for his iconic creations for celebrities like Madonna and Kylie Minogue, has designed a limited-mintage gold ingot by teaming with Dallas-based bullion trading company Dillon Gage Metals.

Never before has a fashion icon designed a gold ingot. The Gaultier bar is a one-of-a-kind, limited-quantity collector's piece that not only is a great investment but it will also become a piece of history. The price of gold has risen more than fivefold in the last 10 years, outperforming almost every other investment, said Terry Hanlon, president of Dillon Gage Metals.

The Gaultier one-ounce bar is the perfect Valentines, birthday or graduation gift for someone special, he further mentioned.

The gold bar is engraved with a heart on one side along with Gaultier's trademark sailor stripe amid radiating rays. On top of that is a banner that displays the name of the designer.

Dillon Gage Metals mentions that a price for the bar is worth $1,826.33 plus a $25 handling fee. With spot gold currently trading for around $1,660 per ounce, there could be an additional 10 percent premium for the brand.
