Season 14 of Dancing With the Stars is in full swing, and the first elimination took place on Tuesday night.

Retired tennis champion Martina Navratilova was given the boot on the show.

Her dance partner, Tony Dovolani, was devastated to see her go.

Martina's probably one of the most wonderful people I've ever had the chance to work with, he told People magazine. Not only is she a female icon, but she has probably the kindest heart I've ever met. So, I'm actually pretty destroyed right now.

Navratilova, 55, was also sad to leave her partner.

I'll miss Tony, she said, People reported. We had a lot of fun.

Some of her fellow contestants took to Twitter to show their support.

None of us got any pleasure seeing Martina leave the show last night, tweeted Gavin DeGraw. She's a TRUE CHAMPION for always seeking new challenges.

Fellow contestant and The View cohost Sherri Shepherd tweeted the following: It was an honor sharing the floor w you @Martina - your grace & humility inspire - will miss your zen & beautiful.

Star favorites this season include Welsh singer Katherine Jenkins and Cuban actor William Levy.

Jenkins is partnered with Mark Ballas and Levy is partnered with Cheryl Burke. Both Ballas and Burke have led their former star partners to victory in previous seasons.
