Dancing with the Stars carried on with Monday's episode, and so did J.R. Martinez, who was performing with an ankle injury.

Martinez, who twisted his right ankle during rehearsals for the semi-finals, plowed through the performance episode and delivered the Paso Doble and the Argentine Tango with partner Karina Smirnoff.

Despite completing the two dances and the Cha Cha Cha relay, Martinez and Smirnoff ended up with the night's second to lowest score of 56. The lowest-scoring team of the night was Hope Solo and partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy, with 49 points.

I give you so much credit for attacking that routine with the intensity that you did with a hurt ankle, obviously it's hurting you a lot, I give you so much credit for that, said judge Carrie Ann Inaba after the Paso Doble.

Martinez, an actor and former U.S. Army Soldier, was clearly favoring his right foot following the high-energy performance to the Legend of Zorro theme song.

I do believe it affected your posture a great deal . . . I felt like your posture really suffered and there were few moments of uncertain pauses that I haven't seen. I know it's hard. Get your head out of the injury. You have two more dances, I want to see you come back strong, Inaba added.

J.R. please believe me. It was more zero than Zorro. There was no posture, you nearly slipped over here. You're too hunched over . . . as much as I feel for you with that problem, I've got to just mark it and say it as I see it, said Len Goodman.

Goodman's comments were received with a sea of boos from the audience, which included actress Eliza Dushku and her boyfriend Rick Fox.

It's sore. It's kind of tough to stand on. But I kind of re-injured it tonight, re-twisted it. At the end of the Paso, when I jumped up in the air and I ended, all the pressure went on and it just irritated it again. It was a tough night, Martinez told Access Hollywood following the show.

Hopefully if America votes us through and they say, you know what they just had an off night . . . I have a week to kind of off-and-on rest it and get ready for the finale, he added.

Martinez, who has hit two perfect scores on Dancing with the Stars, has been a fan favorite to win the competition all season long.

With the injury and low score from Monday night, the 28-year-old will be at the edge of his seat during Tuesday's results show.

Martinez has been staying positive despite his injury. On Monday night, he took to Twitter to talk about his injury, moments before the live taping.

When your so close to accomplishing a goal. Don't allow people/things to retain you~just know what you must do that will be best for you! he wrote.

The results episode for Dancing with the Stars week 9 airs on Tuesday.

Here are the final scores for the remaining four teams:

Ricki Lake and Derek Hough: 67 points
Rob Kardashian and Cheryl Burke: 65 points
J.R. Martinez and Karina Smirnoff: 56 points
Hope Solo and Maksim Chmerkovskiy: 49 points
