Daughter of Billy Bob Thornton guilty of manslaughter of baby girl

Angelina Jolie's ex-husband, Billy Bob Thornton is making headlines once again.

His estranged daughter, Amanda Brumfield, was found guilty of aggravated manslaughter of the death of a one-year-old girl in Orlando, Florida.

The infant was Brumfield's best friend's daughter.

Brumfield was convicted on May 27. In court she explained that the baby tried to climb out of a playpen and hit her head. She claimed that the fall could have caused her death by aggravating an injury she already had.

The prosecutors dismissed that theory claiming it was impossible to get create a 3.5 inch skull fracture that resulted in bleeding and swelling from falling out of a playpen.

Brumfield was acquitted of first-degree murder charges as well as aggravated child abuse.

The verdict was handed down to Brumfield at the same courthouse where Casey Anthony is being tried for the murder of her daughter, the Orlando Sentinel reports.

Her sentence is scheduled in July.
