Death Toll at Belgian Pop Festival Cut to Four

The death toll at a Belgian pop festival struck by a fierce storm that knocked down screens and tents has been cut to four from five, officials said on Monday.

A further eight festival-goers were seriously injured after the storm ripped through the event attended by 60,000 to 65,000 mainly young people.

Officials couldn't say why five deaths had initially been reported. Belgian media said that in the chaos of Thursday night, a man who died in a local hospital was included in the figure even though he hadn't attended the festival.

The three-day Pukkelpop festival was set to have featured rapper Eminem and U.S. bands Foo Fighters and The Offspring.
