Actress Demi Moore is in “absolute shock” after a 21-year-old man was found dead in the swimming pool of her Beverly Hills home on Sunday. Moore was out of country at the time of the incident.

In a statement issued to People magazine, the 52-year-old “Ghost” star said: “I am in absolute shock. I was out of the country traveling to meet my daughters for a birthday celebration when I got this devastating news.”

“The loss of a child is an unthinkable tragedy and my heart goes out to this young man’s family and friends,” she added. “I ask that you please respect the privacy of all concerned during this sensitive time.”

The body was discovered Sunday morning and according to police officials, the man died late Saturday night. No foul play was suspected in the death of the man who was identified by police as Edenilson Steven Valle of Los Angeles, the Los Angeles Times reported.

A party was reportedly held at Moore’s house a night before the body was discovered. Neighbors told TMZ that several parties have been held “day and night” at the house. According to one source, the caretaker of the house organized the party, the report added. Meanwhile, Sgt. A. Bone of the Los Angeles police told ABC 13 that the deceased was “associated” with someone who had “access” to Moore’s pool.
