Democratic congressman Dennis Kucinich (Ohio) is suing a congressional cafeteria for significant dental injuries caused by biting olive pit in a swandwich wrap he ate in 2008.

The lawsuit amount is $150,000 in damages from companies involved with the Longworth House Office Building cafeteria.

According to the District of Columbia Superior Court, the case wasfiled on Jan. 3, and a hearing has been scheduled for April 8.

Kucinich said he injured his teeth by the sandwich on April 17, 2008.

In the lawsuit, Kucinich alleges that contained dangerous substances,namely an olive pit that a consumer would not reasonably expect tofind in the product served. The suit says that Kucinich suffered serious and permanent dental and oral injuries needing multiple surgical and dental procedures.

Dennis John Kucinich, 64 years old, is the U.S. Representative for Ohio's 10th congressional district, serving since 1997, and a candidate for the Democratic nomination for President of the United States in the 2004 and 2008 elections.
