Derek Jeter slammed a home run at Yankee Stadium in New York on Saturday to reach his 3000th career hit.

The Yankee Captain hit a pitch by David Price of the Tampa Bay Rays to the left field bleachers, becoming the 28th player in Major League Baseball history to reach the milestone. He also become the first Yankee player to reach the mark.

Jeter smiled as he rounded the bases as the crowd at the park rose to its feet. Jeter's teammates mobbed him as he reached home plate and traded hugs with their smiling leader.

Jeter then went back to the dugout as the crowd continued to cheer. Even players from the opposing team started to come out into the field to clap and show their appreciation.

Then, Jeter stepped out onto the field again and greeted the fans at each corner of the stadium raising his hand.
