The Season 4 premiere of “Devious Maids” may have answered some major questions (like whether Adrian and Zoila survived the deadly Season 3 finale), but it also unearthed even bigger problems: a new big bad.

By the time episode 1 concluded, a character from the hit Lifetime series had met a gruesome demise after having a trophy jabbed into their throat. It's unknown who viciously killed Peri (Mariana Klaveno), but we have a feeling that whoever murdered Spence’s (Grant Show) ex might have had something to do with what Peri saw while she was looking for Ben (Carlos Ponce).

After Spence called Peri out for lying to him about his life, which was a blur to the actor after experiencing amnesia, Peri decided to get some help from his sponsor, Ben, who played a vital role in Peri’s devious plan to prevent Spence from remembering his relationship with Rosie (Dania Ramirez) and the three blissful years they spent together. So, when an accidental slip jogs Spence’s memory, Ben is the first person Peri searches for to help her.

But when she enters a room of her home while looking for her partner-in-crime, she’s finds something so alarming it leaves her mouth agape.

“Oh my God,” she says in shock.

So, what exactly did Peri witness? Well, it could be a number of things. Check our theories below of what she saw:

The Murderer

Our first theory is that Peri was in the wrong place at the wrong time, which is why she ended up getting murdered. Perhaps while she was looking for Ben, she accidentally walked in on the murderer preparing to kill or with another victim, thus leading to her own death.

Another theory is that Peri walked in on Ben. However, Sabrina Wind, executive producer of the ABC series, confirmed to TVLine that Spence’s sponsor is very much alive.

“He is not dead,” she revealed. “When [Peri] looks for him, she sees something shocking, and it’s of dire importance to the rest of the season.” But if it’s not Ben’s lifeless body that shocks her, perhaps she spotted Ben sleeping with someone. We sensed Peri and Ben had a deeper relationship than just friends. Maybe the sight of Ben with another lover causes Peri to scream out.

Genevieve’s Bad Hair Job

Ok, this theory is a stretch but it’s not unlike Peri to freak out over something so trivial. We’re thinking that Peri walks in the room only to see Genevieve (Susan Lucci) getting a terrible dye job — a hairtastrophe fans can get a glimpse of in the promo video for episode 2.

Fans will get one step closer to finding out what Peri saw when “Devious Maids” airs Season 4, episode 2, on Monday, June 13, at 9 p.m. EDT on Lifetime.
