Many popular websites, including Wikipedia, Reddit and Boing Boing, launched a coordinated blackout today to protest the House's Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) and the Senate's Protect IP Act (PIPA).

Patch and AOL are not participating in the blackout.

Sites like Twitter, Facebook and Google, vocal opponents of the bill, are also not taking part, although Google has blacked out its logo in solidarity with the protests and has slowed its web crawler to help the self-censored sites generate more traffic.

But what do you think of SOPA, and its sister bill PIPA?Do you think the blackout will make a difference?
