Former New York governor Eliot Spitzer's run as the host of a political show on CNN lasted only nine months, as the cable network eliminated the In the Arena program from its evening lineup.

The show, called Parker and Spitzer until conservative columnist Kathleen Parker left, was televised at 8 p.m. Eastern time. Anderson Cooper's show, AC 360, will move to 8 p.m. from 10 p.m. followed by Piers Morgan Tonight at 9 p.m.

As part of the changes to CNN's evening lineup, all in an effort to boost ratings, former CNBC business anchor Erin Burnett will host a new show at 7 p.m., while John King's current CNN show will move to 6 p.m. from 7 p.m.
