On a day when women are being celebrated, “Harry Potter” star Emma Watson revealed she was threatened with a nude photo leak because of a speech she gave on gender equality during a live Q&A session via Facebook on International Women's Day. In September 2014, she launched the “He For She” initiative with U.N. women to encourage men to join the fight for women’s rights.

Watson said she was threatened after the so-called fappening that exposed naked images of dozens of female celebrities, including Oscar-winner Jennifer Lawrence and Sports Illustrated model Kate Upton.

But Watson wasn’t worried. “I knew the pictures didn’t exist,” she said. But it didn’t stop an ominous message from appearing on 4Chan.

“I mean within less than 12 hours I was receiving threats,” she reflected. “I think they were really shocked and one of my brothers in particular was very upset.”

Watson said the incident just means more attention needs to be given to women’s rights.

At her “He For She” U.N. speech in September, Watson insisted, “Feminists are not men haters.” Sunday, she reiterated, “If you stand for equality, then you're a feminist.”

"It's not about men saving women, and I think that's a misunderstanding," she said during Sunday’s session. "Women are already in the club. We're already in the club because it's our movement. It's not a men's club. It's an equality club for both genders."

The interview lasted for more than 30 minutes. She posted both clips on her official Facebook page. The first received nearly 38,000 likes. Click here to watch the videos on her account.
