Hakeem and Jamal
Hakeem (Bryshere Y. Gray, left) was grabbed by a group of thugs at the end of "Empire" episode 5. The rest of the Lyon family including, Jamal (Jussie Smollett, right), will try to save him in episode 6. FOX/Matt Dinerstein

The World Series is set to start next week, which means "Empire" won't be back until the conclusion of the series in early November. However, episode 5, "Be You," left fans with a shocking cliffhanger after the youngest Lyon, Hakeem (Bryshere Y. Gray) was kidnapped by a group of street thugs who want Lyon Dynasty to give them money. The rest of the Lyon family will now have to put their differences aside and work together to find Hakeem in episode 6, titled "A High Hope For A Low Heaven."

The synopsis for episode 6 reveals that Lucious (Terrence Howard) and Cookie (Taraji P. Henson) will actually work side-by-side for once to keep the family out of danger. Jamal (Jussie Smollett) was shown trying to help the two of them in the promo video, but Lucious and Cookie want him to stay as far away from the situation as he can so he doesn't get taken too. It also appears that not only will they put their differences aside to find Hakeem, but Cookie will also help out Jamal with new music. As seen in Season 1, Cookie knows how to bring out the best in Jamal and his music. Jamal will also look to put aside the perception people have of him as a "gay artist."

Hakeem will be in for one of the toughest moments of his life. Lucious has been saying all season long that he wants Hakeem to become a man, well now that might happen. Hakeem will fight for his life against the people who kidnapped him, while growing as person at the same time. Will the Lyons be able to find Hakeem before it's too late?

Although Cookie and Lucious will be teaming up, don't expect them to fall back into a romantic relationship again any time soon. In the episode 6 trailer Cookie is shown kissing Laz (Adam Rodriguez), the new concert promoter and the man who wants to protect Cookie. He saved her after two men broke into Lyon Dynasty to bug the place and steal her masters. Expect her relationship with Laz to develop even further.

Andre (Trai Byers) confessed to all his sins and was baptized in episode 5. However, it looks like still not much has changed with the relationship between him and Lucious. Andre returned to Empire and Lucious gave him the title of president of the company. The promo video reveals Andre and Lucious will get into some type of disagreement over the company and Lucious once again finds a way for Andre to feel bad about himself.

The murder charges against Lucious were dropped after Vernon's (Malik Yoba) body turned up in Roxanne's (Tyra Ferrell) car following episode 4. However, Roxanne has said time and time again that she plans to take Lucious down. Will she and the FBI return to find more dirt on Lucious in episode 6? Or did the Lyon king truly have the last laugh?
