They say misery loves company. Well, apparently so does corruptness.

In Season 2 of the hit Fox series “Empire,” fans will witness the ever so crooked Lucious (Terrence Howard) meet his wicked match in the hip-hop drama, which is set to premiere its sophomore installment on Wednesday, Sep. 23. The Lyon patriarch’s twisted soulmate will be played by “The Wire” actor Andre Royo, according to TVLine.

“Really honored to join exciting cast & DO THE DAMN THING,” the actor tweeted on Friday after the casting news was announced.

Royo will portray a seriously sharp, and devastatingly shady, lawyer named Thirsty Rawlings who manages to peek the recently incarcerated Lucious’ interest after the music mogul discover just how shifty the attorney is. And who better to help Lucious get away with murder than an equally as corrupt prosecutor?

Lucious (Terrence Howard) was arrested in the Season 1 finale of "Empire." Fox

As fans well remember, Lucious was arrested during the Season 1 finale of “Empire” for the murder of Cookie’s (Taraji P. Henson) cousin, Bunkie (Antoine McKay). But not before he was able to give each one of his children a gift: a personal jet for Hakeem (Bryshere Gray), a charity for Dre (Trai Byers) and the empire for Jamal (Jussie Smollett). This will ultimately pit the three siblings up against one another. But with their father behind bars, perhaps they’ll be able to put their jealousies and sibling rivalries to the side to run the empire together.

However, we don’t know how long their Lucious-less lives will be with Thirsty as their father’s lawyer. It seems like Thirsty is as conniving as his is charming, which means the Lyon will be running free before we know it. And considering Lucious’ last lines in the freshman installment were, “It’s game time, b----es,” we have a feeling he’ll be hunting down the people he thinks are responsible for his imprisonment: his family.

“Empire” will air its Season 2 premiere on Wednesday, Sept. 23, on Fox.
