Ever wanted to get coached by Lucious (Terrence Howard), screamed at by Cookie (Taraji P. Henson) while trying to lay down some tracks with Jamal (Jussie Smollett)? You’re not the only “Empire” fan with that dream. And beginning next week, you could be in the running for a shot of singing on “Empire” Season 2.

Like an “American Idol” kind of competition minus the home voting process, Fox is hosting a singing contest to find their next guest star. Fans who visit the gilded “Empire” bus can record their own rendition of “Empire” hit songs like “Drip Drop” and “You’re So Beautiful.” More ambitious singers can record a an a capella track for producers’ considerations. One lucky singer will be invited for a walk-on part sometime in Season 2.

Starting July 16, the stylish “Empire” bus will travel to 15 cities: Los Angeles, CA; San Francisco, CA; Seattle, WA; Chicago, IL; Detroit, MI; St. Louis, MO; Dallas, TX; New Orleans, LA; Nashville, TN; Atlanta, GA; Charlotte, NC; Philadelphia, PA; Washington, DC; New York, NY; and Boston, MA. Exact locations in these major cities have yet to be announced.

And yes, the bus will offer visiting fans cookies!

Any “Empire” fans with musical chops will have not only the chance to join the Season 2 cast, but also join the jam-packed soundtrack. According to Jussie Smollett, the Season 2 music will feature artists like Ne-Yo, Timbaland and Swiss Beatz.

You could be one of several new guest stars joining “Empire” for Season 2. Recently, both Marisa Tomei and Kelly Rowland have been signed to the hit series. Previously announced guests include Chris Rock, Alicia Keys, Lenny Kravitz, Common and even Oprah.

Just be careful not to upstage Cookie while you’re at the mic.
