The euro extended declines versus the dollar to hit a fresh three-week low in mid-morning trading on Friday.

The euro fell as low as $1.2758 EUR=, its weakest level since July 22, according to Reuters data. It was last at $1.2766, down 0.4 percent on the day.

Brian Dolan, chief currency strategist at Forex.com in Bedminster, New Jersey said the euro came under pressure after euro/sterling declined below the 82 level.

The euro fell as low as 81.83 pence EURGBP=D4, its lowest since July 1. (Reporting by Wanfeng Zhou; Editing by James Dalgleish)
