On Monday, evasi0n received an update that took it to the version 1.5.3 from 1.5.2. evasi0n.com

After Apple released iOS 6.1.1 update to iPhone 4S users Monday in a bid to offer fixes for certain performance-related issues, there was an obvious fear that the new firmware could break the recently unveiled evasi0n untethered jailbreak. If you are still concerned about it, you will be glad to know that Planetbeing has dismissed this fright saying that the jailbreak will still work fine.

The hacker, one of the members of the team evad3rs, took to his Twitter account Monday to confirm that evasi0n was working fine even after the iOS 6.1.1 update, but required a little bit of tweak to recognize the new firmware.

“Apple released 6.1.1 for the 4S only today. The JB still works fine. We will release an updated evasi0n that recognizes it as supported,” Planetbeing tweeted.

Well, the team evad3rs was quite fast in keeping its promise as they updated evasi0n later Monday to version 1.3, specifically targeting iPhone 4S running on iOS 6.1.1. The hacker’s team announced the availability of the updated version of evasi0n via its official Twitter page.

“evasi0n 1.3 with support for iOS 6.1.1 on iPhone 4S has been released on evasi0n.com,” evad3rs tweeted.

The iPhone 4S users, who are facing issues with iOS 6.1, are recommended to first backup their devices and then restore in iTunes to iOS 6.1.1. After that they can go ahead with the new evasi0n v1.3.

iDownloadBlog has come up with a step-by-step process to jailbreak iPhone 4S untethered on iOS 6.1.1 using evasi0n v1.3. But before trying out the steps, there are some aspects to be aware of:

- iOS 6.1.1 may update iPhone 4S’ baseband. Therefore, the users, who rely on unlocking tools like UltraSn0w, are advised to stay away from it. However, those whose devices are factory unlocked can go ahead with it

- This tutorial is meant for iPhone 4S as the iOS 6.1.1 update is compatible with that device only

- The users, who are not facing any of the issues associated with iOS 6.1, are not required to update to iOS 6.1.1 and can stay on the current firmware. The new iOS 6.1.1 does not include any new features

- In addition, the users who are willing to jailbreak their iPhone 4S on iOS 6.1.1 should ensure that the Passcode lock on their devices is disabled
