It appears Facebook will release its iPad app on Oct. 4, the same day Apple is scheduled to unveil iPhone 5.

Apple hasn't lost its shine with the release date of iPhone 5, which is drawing near. And rumors about the possible release of Facebook's app for iPad will continue to provide the fuel.

The Facebook app for iPad might become one of the most popular apps for the iPad and could be geared to viewing photos and videos on FaceBook, and even identify Facebook's new feature Timeline.

Mashable said a possibly revamped version of the Facebook app for iPhone and an HTML5-based mobile app will go public.

The app, which was leaked in July on TechCrunch, has been delayed for so long time owing to a combination of timing and a strained relationship with Apple, according to Mashable's report.

Another report quoted that Facebook was initially supposed to be deeply integrated in Apple's iOS 5 but Apple finally turned to Twitter as its negotiations with Facebook had failed.
