Ben and Lauren Bachelor
Lauren Bushnell and Ben Higgins star in the new “Bachelor” spinoff, “Ben and Lauren: Happily Ever After?” on Freeform. Freeform

If you’re planning to spend the night in front of your TV, there are still plenty of shows just starting. Whether you’re looking for a laugh or a scare, you’ll find it in one of these premieres.

ABC has comedy covered. “The Middle” Season 8 kicks off with Axl (Charlie McDermott) bringing a girl home to meet his family. Then, “American Housewife” introduces Katie (Katy Mixon), a mother who is not happy about being the “second fattest housewife in Westport.” Afterwards, “Fresh Off The Boat” Season 3 shows the family heading to Taiwan. Finally, “The Real O’Neals” Season 2 premiere will have Kenny (Noah Galvin) starting an LGBT bake club and Eileen (Martha Plimpton) realizing she has feelings for the vice principal.

“Real Husbands of Hollywood” Season 5 will also provide a laugh. This BET comedy is a semi-scripted mockumentary following the lives of married men in the entertainment industry. Kevin Hart, Nick Cannon and Robin Thicke star.

If horror is what you’re after, try “Channel Zero: Candle Cove” on Syfy. The anthology series kicks off with a psychologist investigating the 1988 murder of several children — including his twin brother.

Fans who are missing their “Bachelor” fix will want to tune in to “Ben and Lauren: Happily Ever After?” on Freeform. Ben Higgins and Lauren Bushnell go to Los Angeles, but Lauren must accept her fiancé’s history with “Bachelorette” star JoJo Fletcher. Watch the first episode on Freeform’s website HERE.

Those who prefer their drama to be entirely scripted can catch “Chicago Fire” Season 5 on NBC. Grant (Guy Burnet) is missing, so Severide (Taylor Kinney) and Stella (Miranda Rae Mayo) have to search for him. Meanwhile, Borelli (Steven R. McQueen) can’t hold back his anger over his brother’s death anymore.
