Chicago Fire
Here’s what fans can expect from “Chicago Fire” Season 5. NBC

A preview of what to expect from “Chicago Fire” Season 5 has been released, and things are looking tense for Dawson (Monica Raymund).

She and Casey (Jesse Spencer) are entering a new chapter of their lives. Even though they are not getting married anytime soon, the two are taking a hand at raising a child. Louie was put under their care, and the kid’s new place in their lives proves to be a cause for concern for Dawson.

In the video, Dawson confides in Herrmann (David Eigenberg) about her fears now that she is responsible for another person’s life. Herrmann says she has just found out the hardest part of their job as firefighters.

Also in the video is a tense moment between Borrelli (Steven R. McQueen) and Chief Boden (Eamonn Walker). Borrelli still blames Boden for the death of his brother and promises that he will make sure the chief loses his job because of what happened.

The sequence featuring Borrelli and Boden in the preview is just the tip of the iceberg, though. Executive producer Michael Brandt told TVGuide that more heated scenes are in store for fans in the first couple episodes of the new season.

“Borrelli is really putting it to Boden,” Brandt said. “That will linger for a couple of episodes and is something that will really challenge the house and challenge Boden as much, if not more than anything else he’s had to deal with.”

Aside from the tension-filled scenes, fans can also expect to see new faces in the upcoming season. Fulvia Vergel and Daniel Zacapa have been tapped to guest star on the show, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The two, who will be seen in the seventh episode of the season, will play the roles of Dawson’s parents.

“Chicago Fire” Season 5 premieres Oct. 11, 9 p.m. on NBC.
