Fans Laugh Off Taylor Lautner, Lauren Scruggs Dating Rumors After Billie Lourd

Although Taylor Lautner is fresh out of his relationship with Billie Lourd and is likely to be seen out with other ladies, fans of the star laughed off dating rumors after the “Twilight” actor was spotted at dinner with Lauren Scruggs.

On Thursday, the two were spotted grabbing a bite to eat at Craig’s in Los Angeles, according to the Daily Mail. While some thought Lautner was moving on from his ex-girlfriend, most fans were quick to point out that the actor was not romantically involved with Scruggs, who is married to E! News reporter Jason Kennedy.

“Oh no! Taylor Lautner is trying to steal yo girl @JasonKennedy1!!” one fan wrote, joking about the two being photographed together.

“She’s a friend. And why are you always talking about Billie? They’re over, it’s okay if he’s moving on,” another fan wrote.

Lourd and Lautner began dating in Dec. 2016, after getting closing on the set of their show “Scream Queens.” The two broke up in July, but sources revealed that they are still cordial. “They aren’t together anymore but they are still friendly,” an insider told People.

“She’s really focused on her work right now,” the source added.

Meanwhile, Scruggs has been in a committed relationship with Kennedy for quite some time. The fashion journalist made headlines everywhere in 2011, when she stepped off of a plane in the dark and walked into the spinning propeller, severing her left hand and losing her left eye.

The two were set up by Kennedy’s former co-worker, Giuliana Rancic, not long after her injury. Rancic, who used to be an E! News anchor, became friendly with Scruggs after interviewing her about her accident and suggested that she meet Kennedy.

The E! News reporter chatted with the journalist and wrote down a few hiking spots she should try out, along with his phone number. The two then took a hike the following day and became fast friends, eventually forming a relationship.

In June, Scruggs actually praised her husband, who has been immensely supportive. “Before I met Jason, I said I kind of want to date someone who didn’t go through the accident with me because I don’t want to be fully defined by that and I also don’t want to be babied ever,” she told People.

“There’s a line between awareness and being babied. I don’t know how to describe it, but I feel like Jason was so aware when we were dating like if we were going hiking he would kind of loosen the top of my water bottle,” she added.

By May 2014, Kennedy proposed to Scruggs. “He is one of the most thoughtful people I know,” the star told People at the time of her engagement.

“His proposal was the most special night – from him thinking about my favorite flower to the people most important to me being there and his whole way of asking. I am so happy,” she added.

Kennedy and Scruggs married on December 12, 2014 and have been going strong ever since.
