As expected, AMC left its first season of “Fear the Walking Dead” on a massive cliffhanger. With the group fragmented after the deadly events of the Season 1 finale, many are already looking ahead to the nautical setup for Season 2.

For those that missed the episode 6 ending, Travis (Cliff Curtis) and Madison (Kim Dickens) had led their group of survivors to the home of a mysterious suit-wearing man with a plan named Strand (Colman Domingo). He previously revealed to Madison that he’s got a well-stocked boat that’s capable of allowing the entire gang to survive for an extended period of time. It isn’t until they get to the house that they discover that the boat Strand was talking about is less of a dingy and more of a super-yacht.

It’s clear that, whatever the writers and producers have in store for the characters in Season 2, it will at least have something to do with the group’s new base of operations as seafaring survivors. In a new video from AMC, the cast and crew take a moment to reflect on what life may be like on the water during a zombie apocalypse.

“At the end of Season 1, we’ll see that there is a glimmer of hope, that there is potential escape with this boat off the coast,” says executive producer Gale Anne Hurd. Although she stopped short of saying that will be the focus of the following season, it is heavily implied throughout the below video.

So, will the cast be donning pirate hats or naval uniforms at the onset of Season 2? Unfortunately, no one knows for sure as each of the cast members interviewed took a moment to reveal that they have yet to be told what is happening to their characters in the next season. What they do know is that the confined space that a boat provides may end up replacing the military as the group’s principal challenge when they return in 2016.

“I don’t think you can get more confined than a boat floating around in the middle of the ocean,” Travis actor Cliff Curtis says in the video. “Do we come across another boat? Do we go to an island?”

Although the cast knows nothing at this time, odds are good that this won’t be the last teaser for Season 2 that fans will see between now and its premiere next year. In the meantime, they can satiate their “Walking Dead” appetites with the premiere of the new web series “Fear the Walking Dead: Flight 462” or by waiting one week and diving into “The Walking Dead” Season 6.
