Disney fans, get ready for your first look at Emma Watson and Dan Stevens in costume as Belle and Beast from Disney’s upcoming live-action film, “Beauty and the Beast.”

Entertainment Weekly has the exclusive look at the characters which features Watson as Belle in her signature golden dress and Stevens as Beast in his blue suit as the two dance together in the ballroom.

In a June interview with the Independent, Watson discussed why she wanted to take on the role of Belle. “I loved that she was this feisty heroine whose whole life wasn’t about marrying the most handsome guy in the village. Belle wants to read, she wants to go on adventures and be her own woman, her own person,” said Watson. “She was one of my first tastes of feminism, so it’s pretty cool to play her now.”

In other photos we can see Belle in her signature blue dress, and we also get our first look at Luke Evans as Gaston and Josh Gad as Le Fou. Evans and Gad can be see in costume riding horses, while we also get a shot of Gaston in a bar with his sword in the air.

EW also has a shot of the supporting characters: Cogsworth (Ian McKellen), Mrs. Potts (Emma Thompson), Lumiere (Ewan McGregor) and Plumette (Gugu Mbatha-Raw).

Directed by Bill Condon (“Chicago,” “Dreamgirls”), “Beauty and the Beast” has been in development since 2014 after a version based on the 1994 Broadway musical was scrapped. Although Condon originally planned to include most of the music from the Broadway musical, the plan was eventually dropped.

While the film won’t be like the musical, Susan Egan, who played Belle on Broadway, was still happy for Watson being cast. Egan described Watson as a “beautiful, intelligent, quirky, articulate, empowered, fighter-of-social-injustice, young actress.”

“Beauty and the Beast” hits theaters March 17, 2017.
