“The Flash” stars Grant Gustin and Tom Felton are shipping Barry and Julian together!

At a panel at the Silicon Valley Comic Con on Sunday, Gustin and Felton said that they are well aware of their great chemistry on screen and admitted that they actually campaigned for a plot twist in which their characters become lovers. “I genuinely thought it would be a lovely twist if towards the end of the season. Barry and Julian ran off together,” Felton said (via San Francisco Chronicle), prompting cheers from the audience.

“We thought it would be kind of funny — fun rather — to go in that direction because we have such fun chemistry,” added Gustin.

Although the writers didn’t buy it, Gustin said that seeing a world in which Barry and Julian are in a romantic relationship with each other isn’t impossible as “The Flash” has multiple universes to play with. “[The show could add an] Earth-5 where like we’ve been together for 30 years,” Gustin joked, drawing laughter from the crowd.

Apparently, Gustin and Felton’s chemistry also translates off-screen, and it can be seen in a number of behind-the-scenes photos they shared on Instagram.

In addition to Gustin, Felton — who joined the series at the beginning of Season 3 — also made with friends with the rest of the cast, including Keiynan Lonsdale and Carlos Valdes. “He’s just an awesome guy,” Keiynan, who plays Wally/Kid Flash, said of Felton in an interview with “The Lowdown with Diana Madison.” “He’s super cool. He’s an awesome laid-back dude. … The first time I met him was at [San Diego] Comic-Con. So we’re just all together … like eight of us or whatever, and we’re all like this big family straightaway, and he just fit it day one. It’s really cool.”

“Tom is the best,” Valdes, who plays Cisco/Vibe, said (via Comics Beat) of Felton when asked what it’s been like working with the “Harry Potter” alum. “I’ve hung out with him a couple of times, and he’s such an interesting dude. I’m learning a lot about photography and working with his cameras, because he takes pictures all the time and is an enthusiast.”

“The Flash” returns from its month-long hiatus with Season 3, episode 19 on Tuesday, April 25 at 8 p.m. EDT on The CW.
