None of this is true, however.

Fox News confirmed that its Twitter account was hacked. The President, meanwhile, isn’t dead. Instead, he’s spending the holiday weekend with his family.

Fox said it has alerted the US Secret Service and is requesting a detailed investigation from Twitter.

A group called Scriptkiddies, which was previously unknown to the public, took responsibility. A representative from the group told Stony Brook University's Think Magazine:

“We are looking to find information about corporations to assist with antisec. Fox News was selected because we figured their security would be just as much of a joke as their reporting.

Fox, however, doesn’t seem to have regained control over its Twitter account yet because it’s still displaying those false tweets.

This isn’t the first time hackers have pulled a death hoax.

The infamous LulzSec group shot into the public spotlight by hacking PBS and posting a bogus story that Tupac and Biggie were alive in New Zealand.
