But acting isn’t the only way Gadot makes money. She is also the lead model and host for a clothing company in Israel called Costro.

As a model, she was photographed by Maxim magazine in 2007. She’s also graced the covers of magazines like Glamour, Cosmopolitan and Bride Magazine. Additionally, she is the star of Gucci’s fragrance, bamboo.

She is married to businessman Yaron Versano. “We met nearly 10 years ago through mutual friends at this very strange party in the Israeli desert,” she told Glamour Magazine in March 2016. “It was all about yoga, chakras, and eating healthy — we didn't exactly find ourselves there, but we found each other.”

Versano knew he wanted to spend the rest of his life with Gadot, but she wasn’t so sure. “I think I did, but I was too young to get it,” she told Glamour Magazine.“He did! He's 10 years older than me. He told me on our second date he was serious and wasn't going to wait more than two years to ask me to marry him. Fast-forward two years; he proposed. We were married in 2008.”

“Wonder Woman” made history, having the biggest opening ever for a female director. The newest filick by Warner Bros.' DC Extended Universe raked in $103.1 million in North America over the weekend, CNN reported Monday. Before Patty Jenkins made history, it was “Fifty Shades of Grey” director Sam Taylor-Johnson who held the record at $85.2 million in 2015.

As CNN noted, “Wonder Woman” is the first superhero film with a female as the lead. More than half of the audience who saw the film over the weekend were women, which is significant since the comic book genre is typically dominated by men.

“Wonder Woman” was touted as a triumph for woman in Hollywood and the film making industry. “Any ridiculous notion that a woman may not be suited to direct a big budget superhero movie is hopefully once and for all shattered,” Paul Dergarabedian, senior media analyst at comScore, told CNN Monday.
