Gal Gadot did not dream that she would one day become an actress, but the call was too strong for her to resist. She even managed to nab the highly-coveted role of Wonder Woman without meaning to.

Gadot told W Magazine that she wanted a part in Zack Snyder’s “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,” but she did not think she would get the role of Diana Prince. In fact, Gadot admitted she was a bundle of nerves during the audition. Luckily, she has one singer to thank for making her feel better.

“When I auditioned for ‘Batman v Superman,’ I didn't know it was for Wonder Woman. The director, Zack Snyder, asked me to do a camera test. That was torture. They were looking at six or seven girls, and we were all in separate trailers and were told to stay inside until they called us. Waiting is my enemy Number One, and I was losing my mind,” she shared. “So, I decided to put on Beyonce. Who runs the world? Girls! I just started to dance, and I let my anxiety go. Thank you, Beyonce!”

“Wonder Woman” director Patty Jenkins could not be more pleased with the selection, since she believes Gadot is the true embodiment of Wonder Woman.

“Oh my God, they couldn't have found anybody better in the whole wide world. Just look at Gal Gadot when she smiles or when she meets somebody and shakes their hand. That is the embodiment of Wonder Woman. She is so beautiful and powerful, but kind and generous and thoughtful. She's just an amazing person,” she told Empire.

Gadot’s leading man, Chris Pine, also feels the same way about her. He told The Huffington Post that starring alongside Gadot was actually a cinch. “It was fun to fall in love with Gal Gadot. It was fun to do some comedy. It was fun to do some action. The part kind of asked for a little bit of all of it, so it was a good time,” he said.

“Wonder Woman” will be released on June 2.
