Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus makes a great holiday gift because it is very portable, super fun to use and has a great feel without being too heavy or bulky. It is expensive, however, because at $400, you can get a decent 10-inch tablet like the Asus Eee Pad Transformer. But the Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus is worth it because of it's bright display, full HD playback ability, impressive battery life, of course, the Android operating system. Furthermore, it weighs just 345 grams, making it the lightest seven inch tablet, nearly half what the iPad weighs.

Besides being light and getting around eight hours of battery life out of a single charge, one interesting feature it has is called the Peel Smart Remote App. It's a super easy app to use and it makes your Galaxy Tab into a universal remote control (Sony Tablet S has a similar function). As far as the Android software is concerned, Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus ships with the Honeycomb 3.2 variant, but should get the Android 4.0 upgrade within a couple months. Samsung built the Galaxy Nexus for Google, so Samsung devices will probably be the first devices to get the upgrade out of all the manufacturers who run the Android system.
