In a goal-filled week of Spanish league football, which strike, do you think, is the best of the week? Lionel Messi, the usual suspect, is a contender, while Gonzalo Higuain seems to have found his goal-scoring boots. Here's a look at their goals.

Lionel Messi, Barcelona 3-0 Racing Santander

Barcelona had a fairly easy win over Racing, with Messi bagging his customary brace. The second of the two goals saw him become the second highest goal-scorer in the history of the club. However, it was the first goal that caught the eye. Eleven minutes into the game, after neat interplay with Andres Iniesta, Messi managed to squeeze past a forest of green defenders in the penalty area and fake a shot, to leave the goalkeeper in no-man's land, before sliding it calmly into an empty net. It was the work of genius and despite being accustomed to seeing this sort of brilliance from the Argentine, there is no denying the class invovled.

Gonzalo Higuain, Real Madrid 4-1 Real Betis

Real Madrid strolled to a 4-1 over Betis at the Santiago Bernabeu with a bunch of impressive performances all around. However, it was another Argentine who caught the eye. Higuain has been scoring gallons of goals in the previous games. In fact, he has scored three hat-tricks in four games, including one for Argentina during last week's international break. Against, Betis he clinched the hat-trick with a sublime chip, lifitng it over the stranded keeper from just ouside the area, after being let through by Angel Di Maria's through ball. Chipped goals are always special but this one was extraordinary purely due to the ease with which he scored it.
