The Google Chromecast simplifies the media viewing experience in the living room for just about anyone. Google

It’s nothing new for Google Chromecast users to be able to use their 3-inch digital media player to stream live events from YouTube to their PC, but now they’ll be able to use that streaming capability on their TV. In a Google+ post Tuesday afternoon, the company reminded users that they can use their Mountain View HDMI device to watch livestreaming videos “from the comfort of your own living room.”

The functionality feature, which Google Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOGL) said was soft-launched “a little while ago,” could be especially popular for music fans who are unable to afford tickets to any of the upcoming summer music festivals, but still hope to have a party at home while enjoying the Electric Daisy Carnival live from Las Vegas or the best parts of the July surf tournament in Huntington Beach, California.
