Gotham Season 2 Spoilers
Harvey Bullock (Donal Logue, left) and Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) will have two fewer allies as detectives Allen and Montoya (not pictured) will no longer be series regulars in "Gotham" Season 2. Fox

“Gotham” Season 2 already looks a little crazy. New photos feature actor Cameron Monaghan on set as Jerome, who is most likely the Joker. The pictures show the redhead in an interesting costume. We’re guessing that the bondage look isn’t for any sort of “Fifty Shades of Grey” theme parties, but rather an actual need to restrain him.

However, it looks like nothing can contain the young villain. He seems to have gotten away from whoever was in charge of restraining him and is going through with his own evil plan. The set photos show Jerome on a school bus with a fire hose. There doesn’t appear to be a fire, so we’re guessing that he isn’t saving the day.

Monaghan teased even more trouble by showing Jerome in what looks like a lineup at a police station. Even if his character ends up behind bars, he probably won’t stay there for long. However, the “Shameless” actor didn’t give any hints about the picture. He just captioned it, “#Gotham.”

The actor teased audiences even more when he tweeted about how excited he was for his Season 2 storyline. It seems that he was a fan of the Batman series as a teenager.

Audiences still don’t know if Jerome is the Joker, but he is connected to the infamous villain. Showrunner Bruno Heller revealed that “Gotham” Season 2 would explore the connection. “We're going to find out how the hell Jerome, the proto-Joker we met earlier in this season, connects with the Joker as people known him,” Heller told the Hollywood Reporter in May. “That's the big focus of the beginning of the second season. We're going to tell the story of how the Joker came to be…that's teaser enough, I think."

Jerome won’t be the only villain causing trouble for Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie). As previously reported, several famous faces from the Batman comics will be incorporated into “Gotham” Season 2. Joining the Joker will be Mr. Freeze, Clayface and Mad Hatter.

“Gotham” Season 2 premieres Monday, Sept. 21, at 8 p.m. EDT on Fox. Are you hoping that Jerome is the Joker? Sound off in the comments section below!
