Gotham
Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) will be reconnecting with his estranged Uncle Frank (James Remar) in "Gotham" Season 3. Fox

It seems like “Gotham” Season 3 is shaping up two important characters - Jervis Tetch (Benedict Samuel) and his sister Alice Tetch (Naian Gonzales Norvind).

Jervis, also known as The Mad Hatter, has gone to Gotham City in search of his sister. However, his motive in finding her isn’t all that good.

Jervis, who has the ability to manipulate people’s minds, is looking for Alice because he wants to access her powers, according to Entertainment Weekly.

But what that power is still remains a mystery. Alice’s mysterious ability is the first reason why she is such a pivotal character this season. She is reportedly terrified of her abilities, but her brothers think it’s a gift.

The second reason why Alice is an important character this season is because she could form a solid alliance with lead characters Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) and Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie). With them on her side, it’s a safe bet that her powers will be used for good. But if Jervis finds her first and hypnotizes her to do his bidding, then more problems will be unleashed in the city.

Lastly, brother-and-sister storylines are very crucial in “Gotham.” Back in Season 2, they played with the relationship of Theo Galavan (James Frain) and Tabitha Galavan (Jessica Lucas).

The two seemed to be on the same side in the beginning, but then Tabitha became upset with her brother and eventually threw him under the bus. With Jervis and Alice in the spotlight next season, “Gotham” can hopefully play up a good brother and sister relationship.

Jervis already seems like a new villain, but Samuel hinted that there might be redemption in store for the character. “There’s a child in there [inside him] and there’s also a psychopath,” he told Zap2It.

Meanwhile, Comic Book has provided a first glimpse of the Mad Hatter’s mysterious lair, which is filled with clocks, chairs and all sorts of knick-knacks.

There are creepy dolls and mannequins hanging all over the place, while dollhouses and chess pieces adorn the lair. There are also tasty desserts such as cakes and teas on his table, but the vibe of his place is anything but inviting.

“Gotham” will return on Monday, Sept. 19, at 8 p.m. on Fox.
