Ra's al Ghul (Alexander Siddig) will force Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) to lose his innocence in “Gotham” Season 4. FOX

Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) will be forced to grow up too fast in “Gotham” Season 4, and his moment of change will not go down too well. In fact, Mazouz said Bruce will forever be changed after his loss of innocence at the hands of Ra’s al Ghul (Alexander Siddig).

“Bruce’s relationship with Ra’s is going to be the most important relationship he has actually this year. Ra’s is going to take the last strand of boyish innocence that Bruce possesses and snap it in two – very soon actually,” the actor told Screen Rant. “You’re not going to have to wait long to see that…Because of a very tragic episode that happens with Bruce and Ra’s, he’s going to transform as a human and he’s never going to be the same ever again. He’s really going to lose all of his naivety, all of his innocence, and he’s going to see the world for what it is, this unforgiving, disgusting place and especially Gotham — it’s 10 times that.”

Mazouz hinted at a tragedy that will make Bruce become a different person. Unfortunately, hit butler-slash-guardian Alfred Pennyworth (Sean Pertwee) will not appreciate this change.

“Because of a tragedy that happens, it’s going to change him and it’s going to turn him into that person. He becomes somebody that nobody should be proud of, and that Alfred definitely isn’t proud of, and it gets really dark but it’s been so much fun to play,” he said.

Bruce’s change will also affect his relationship with Selina Kyle (Carmen Bicondova). Selina is currently figuring out her place in society while getting training from Tabitha Galavan (Jessica Lucas) and Barbara Kean (Erin Richards). Amidst all these things, she will have to deal with her feelings for Bruce.

“[Their relationship] gets mended and then it falls apart again,” Bicandova told Digital Spy. “So it’s just that rollercoaster that they're always on. I feel like Bruce decides to just buckle up on the rollercoaster – he likes to go on it – and Selina likes to jump off and do her own thing... she doesn't like being on the rollercoaster, but she can't help getting back on!”

Things are going to get even more complicated since Ra’s is training Barbara. But Barbara is such a wildcard that Richards told Bustle “she could go back to good, she could go back to bad. I think the great thing about a character like Barbara is that we actually don’t know the end of her.”

“Gotham” Season 4 airs every Thursday at 8 p.m. EDT on Fox.
