Tina Fey’s husband Jeff Richmond composed an original song for Season 2 of “Great News.”

In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, series creator Tracey Wigfield revealed that the song will be featured in Season 2, episode 2 of the NBC series.

In the episode, Diana St. Tropez (Fey) continues to overhaul MMN, but Portia (Nicole Richie) isn’t thrilled with all the changes. “Diana ends up getting in a little bit of a squad feud with Portia,” Wigfield revealed. “It results in Portia making a ‘Swish Swish’/’Bad Blood’-style video against this powerful businesswoman, using the people in the office.”

When asked what she thinks of the song Richmond wrote, Wigfield said that it rivals those released by Katy Perry and Taylor Swift. “I was like ‘You should just be a billionaire writing songs for Katy Perry. ‘Why are you wasting time scoring our show?’” Wigfield recalled of her reaction after hearing the song for the first time.

Richmond is also the composer of the classic song “Werewolf Bar Mitzvah” from NBC’s “30 Rock” and “Peeno Noir” featured on Netflix’s “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.” Richmond was most recently nominated for outstanding original music and lyrics at this year’s Emmys for the song “Hell No” from “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.” He shared the said nomination with Fey and Sam Means.

Although there’s no current plan for Richmond to appear on “Great News,” his wife — who’s also an executive producer on the show — is set to appear in seven episodes of the sophomore run of the series. Fey will appear in the first three episodes of Season 2 and will return for more episodes later in the season.

Fey’s recurring role on the show was announced at the Television Critics Association’s summer press tour earlier this month. During a panel at the event, Wigfield described Fey’s Diana as “Sheryl Sandberg on steroids” and one of the few women who are seen as truly having it all. “Diana is hopefully a really good foil to Andrea [Martin]’s character [Carol],” Wigfield said (via The Hollywood Reporter). “This character kind of represents to her everything that she isn’t.”

“Great News” Season 2, episode 1 airs on Thursday, Sept. 28 at 9:30 p.m. EDT on NBC.
