Six people, including two children and the suspected gunman, have been killed in a shooting in a South Carolina home on Tuesday, media reports said, citing local police.

A local television station reported that a 911 call described a person threatening suicide, and a SWAT team, which reached the house about 90 minutes later, found gunshot victims, the youngest of whom was nine years old, the report said.

Greenwood County Sheriff Tony Davis told a local Fox News affiliate that deputies received a call around 6 p.m. local time on Tuesday from a man inside the home stating that he meant to harm people.

CNN quoted Davis as saying that all the victims died from gunshot wounds. A spokesman for the state’s law enforcement division told the network that crime scene investigators had been dispatched to assist local authorities.

Greenwood is located about 84 miles west of Columbia, S.C., the state’s capital.
