What’s “Grey’s Anatomy” without a little relationship drama? Fans of the ABC show will get their fill of romantic turbulence when episode 5 of Season 11 airs Thursday night. Not only will Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) and Derek (Patrick Dempsey) continue arguing over Washington (which seems to be code for their careers), but Callie (Sara Ramirez) and Arizona (Jesse Williams) will also face a bumpy point in their marriage while discussing some rather difficult memories in therapy.

According to the synopsis for next week’s episode, “Bend & Break” (an episode named after the band Keane’s hit single) will largely focus on Callie and Arizona’s storyline. The couple will “take a look into the problems that have contributed to their troubled marriage,” the summary teases. “At work, Callie immerses herself in the Veterans Project while Arizona struggles to impress Dr. Herman (Geena Davis)."

The promo video for episode 5 elaborated on what viewers can anticipate during the duo’s therapy session. The trailer began with Arizona explaining how four years ago she received a grant “of a lifetime” -- one that allowed her to travel to Africa to work in a clinic.

“That was an opportunity that I never thought I would get,” she said, as Callie interjected that her wife was able to live out her dream. “But you were supposed to go with me,” Arizona continued. “And you were miserable -- and letting everyone know about it. So, I went. I went without you.”

But when Arizona came home, she was welcomed with a surprise -- and we’re not talking cake or balloons. “And when I came back you were,” she started before Callie chimed in, “pregnant.” Callie explained to the therapist that she’s bisexual (which “freaks” Arizona out), and while her wife was away she had an affair with a male co-worker. Arizona claimed she didn’t have time to process what happened, which Callie thinks is her wife saying that she feels “trapped” with a kid she “never wanted.”

But Arizona is anything but stuck and quickly finds the words to express her anger. "Don’t you ever say that I don’t love my child or that I regret my child," she fired back. "I regret that you made a decision for me. You make all the choices. And every time that I try to make a decision for myself it’s like you make me feel like the worst, most selfish person in the whole world."

“I’m sorry. Did I make you feel selfish when you decided to sleep with another woman?” Callie quickly rebutted. Guess we'll be seeing these two in more couple therapy sessions throughout Season 11.

The synopsis for episode 5 concluded that Webber (James Pickens Jr.) will look to the newly appointed board member Bailey (Chandra Wilson) for advice, which we assume has something to do with the daughter he didn’t know he had until the Season 10 finale.

Tune into episode 5 of “Grey’s Anatomy” when “Bend & Break” airs Thursday, Oct. 23, at 8 p.m. EDT.
