We’ve got some bad news for “Crowen” fans. According to TVLine, Shonda Rhimes is romantically stitching together Owen (Kevin McKidd) with another scrub-donning doctor when “Grey’s Anatomy” returns for the second-half of Season 11 on Thursday, Jan. 29. Any guesses on which Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital employee will win over the heart of Cristina Yang’s (Sandra Oh) former beau? Here’s a hint: she Derek’s (Patrick Dempsey) sister and currently the Head of Neurosurgery.

That’s right! Amelia (Caterina Scorsone) will be cozying up to Owen when the hit ABC drama returns in 2015 (thanks to a little push from Callie [Sara Ramirez]) and we can’t exactly say we’re surprised. We’ve been anticipating an Amelia and Owen romance for quite some time, ever since the two bonded over their haunting pasts -- and we’re not the only one’s who have been bracing for a new hospital romance!

“That could be interesting,” McKidd told the Hollywood Reporter in October, responding to the thought a possible relationship between the two doctors. “I’d like to explore that for the character. I think Shonda is interested in that idea. The damage of those two characters could really be interesting to put together. It could create a lot of comedy.”

McKidd elaborated, explaining that his character dating Amelia could create some sort of awkward tension between Owen and Derek. “[That] relationship would take on a whole new dynamic and level, which could be really fun to play with — 'Whoa, you're dating my sister now?!' And Meredith and Owen have always had a slightly complicated relationship. I think there could be a lot of possibilities there."

So what did Scorsone think of Amelia possibly changing her Facebook relationship status from "Single" to “In a relationship”? Well, during an interview with E! Online, the actress revealed that she’s pretty interested to see where Rhimes’ Season 11 storyline will take both her and McKidd's characters.

"In terms of Owen and Amelia, seeing their bond grow is so interesting. They have so much scar tissue and baggage and pain that they've dealt with individually, so knowing that there is someone at the hospital who can relate on a personal level is going to be really healing for them both,” the actress said, adding that whether that meant a friendship or a romance for Amelia and Owen, she didn't know. “We haven't gotten that far yet. They definitely understand and support each other in a way that no one else would be able to."
