The doctors are back! And, according to reports, the surgeons of Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital will return to the hit ABC series “Grey’s Anatomy” with a bang … several of them. But before audiences tune into the action-packed midseason premiere, here’s a refresher of all the drama that went down in the Season 12 winter finale.

During episode 8, fans watched Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) and Amelia (Caterina Scorsone) face one of their biggest falling outs to date. Their argument involved Mer explaining to her sister-in-law that while they may be related by marriage, they're certainly not by blood.

The two went head-to-head in the winter finale over Meredith’s loyalty — or should we say, lack thereof? Amelia felt betrayed by her sister when Meredith refused to tell her what Owen’s (Kevin McKidd) beef with Riggs (Martin Henderson) was. This resulted in Amelia calling Mer out, stating that she has everyone’s back but her own sister’s.

“You are not my sister,” Mer barked back. “Cristina (Sandra Oh) is my sister. You are Derek’s (Patrick Dempsey) sister.”

Meredith then demanded Amelia to pack her bags because she wanted her out of the house.

But Mer and Amelia weren't the only surgeons of Grey Sloan feuding. Ever since the New Zealand hunk walked into the hospital, Owen has been quite vocal about his disdain for the hot, new doc. And during episode 8, Owen’s hatred for Riggs turned physical when he socked the newcomer in the face.

After the incident Meredith did some investigating on Owen and Rigg’s mysterious past, which is when she uncovered something interesting about her long-time friend — He has a sister!

“You never told me you has a sister,” she said to him, catching both Owen and audiences off guard.

Another major plot point during the Season 12 winter finale occurred when Alex (Justin Chambers) popped the big question to Jo (Camilla Luddington) in what was one of the worst proposals in TV history. After fighting with Jo in an attempt to justify his prioritization of Meredith, Alex made the bold — and dumb — decision to patch up his crumbling relationship with a band-aid and a wedding ring.

But before Jo could give Alex her answer, the episode concluded, thus giving viewers yet another massive cliffhanger.

Like Alex and Jo, the fate of Japril is also up in the air. During episode 8, Jackson (Jesse Williams) and April (Sarah Drew) decided to have the talk — the one that would establish their relationship status. While April was all for rekindling their marriage, she left the decision up to Jackson, who previously toyed with the idea of divorce. Audiences will have to wait until episode 11 to find out whether Jackson decided to resuscitate his marriage or pull the plug.

“Grey’s Anatomy” will air its Season 12 Winter Premiere on Thursday, Feb. 11, at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
