People around the world waited anxiously online in family rooms and in line at game and electronic stores all over the world in anticipation for the release of “Grand Theft Auto 5” (“GTA 5”) at midnight Tuesday. Soon after, social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter were flooded with tweets from fans breathing a sigh of relief that they finally were able to get their hands on a copy of “GTA 5.”

Photos and videos posted on Twitter included an innumerable number of “GTA 5” game boxes and special edition box sets. A few of them included humorous photos of people placing their newly acquired “GTA 5” game in a seat belt before driving home in excitement to play the game for the first time. Other tweets expressed more sarcastic reactions, particularly with PC gamers who will have to wait for the possibility of a PC version in the future.

"Grand Theft Auto 5" is now available for the Xbox 360 and the Playstation 3 (PS3) in stores and online.

Along with the funny tweets included a couple of tweets mocking parents for purchasing the game for their kids.
