Gucci Mane has released three new mixtapes, making a triumphant statement that he is in the game for the long term.

The mixtapes are the prolific rapper's first releases since his eighth studio album, "Trap House III," came out May 21, and they came Tuesday, the same day he made waves in the hip-hop world by dissing three fellow artists via Twitter.

The release of the mixtapes made the word "Gucci" the top U.S. trending topic on Twitter, though that popularity was also fueled by a tweet he sent out insulting rappers Young Jeezy, Yo Gotti and T.I.

"Name your Top 3 P***y a** rappers? Mines? Jeezy Yo gotti & Tip. No brainer. But there are 100s more....Go... #ww3," Gucci tweeted.

The Atlanta-born rapper's career has taken an interesting turn in recent years, as the 33-year-old has stepped into other arenas including, most recently, making his acting debut in the 2013 film "Spring Breakers" alongside James Franco, Vanessa Hudgens and Selena Gomez.

But he's also had his fair share of problems, as his seemingly endless legal troubles continue in earnest. Most recently, he was indicted on a count of aggravated assault in April after allegedly getting into an altercation with a fan in Atlanta and hitting him in the head with a bottle; another person claims he punched him in the face. He was incarcerated for a short time, then released, then arrested for a parole violation later that month, and released again on May 2.
