Are you one of the hundreds of thousands of people who were unlucky in scoring tickets to Broadway’s “Hamilton”? Fear not — a new musical project from the cast of the critically acclaimed musical is bringing music to the masses without all the hassle.

Announced in October 2015, “The Hamilton Mixtape” is comprised of “remixes & covers & inspired bys.” Lin-Manuel Miranda, who starred in “Hamilton” until July, teamed up with Questlove and Black Thought from The Roots to create the project. Although fans have been anticipating the mixtape’s release for quite some time, little is known about it. Miranda, 36, has mentioned it on several occasions briefly during interviews, providing fans with just a few pieces of information to cling to until “The Hamilton Mixtape” is released.

With so much uncertainty, we’ve gathered every possible piece of information about Miranda’s latest venture. Check it out:

What Is “The Hamilton Mixtape”?

When Miranda first announced the project on Twitter in 2015, he told followers it would be comprised of “remixes & Covers & Inspired bys,” but did not elaborate. That is, until he sat down with Rolling Stone nearly one year later. During the interview, Miranda expanded on the idea a bit, telling the publication that all the songs featured would be covers and/or reimagined versions of songs from “Hamilton” done by other artists.

During a press conference on June 16, Miranda revealed that “The Hamilton” mixtape will feature a cover of “Satisfied” that is sure to be an instant classic. He promised that the song was
Going to blow your f---ing minds.” He refused to reveal the name of the cover’s artist, but said that it “does not rhyme with Shmayoncé.” During the same press conference Miranda revealed that he had decided to include demos in the album, though he previously stated that he would not be doing so.

“I have a song called ‘Valley Forge’ that I cut that we actually performed in the Lincoln Center concert,” he said. “I sort of took the best lines from it and put it in ‘Stay Alive,’ but the ‘Valley Forge’ demo will be on the recording.

There will also be a rap battle about slavery on the album. During the New Yorker Festival, Miranda said that writing that particular portion of “The Hamilton Mixtape” was “enormously cathartic.”

Who Will Be On “The Hamilton Mixtape”?

Questlove and Black Thought have been linked to the project since its earliest days, though it remains unclear whether they plan to appear on any tracks. Mike Elizondo and Rigo “Riggs” Morales — both well known producers in the music industry, known best for their work with Tegan and Sara, Fiona Apple and 50 Cent — are also producing tracks for “The Hamilton Mixtape.” Miranda revealed their involvement in a photo, which he tweeted to his more than 700,000 followers.

Busta Rhymes, Jimmy Fallon, Regina Spektor, Ben Folds, Chance the Rapper, and more will appear on “The Hamilton Mixtape” as guest artists. Miranda revealed during a recent Periscope session that Busta Rhymes did a reimagined version of “My Shot” for the album. In April he teased the project on Twitter, revealing to fans that Fallon — who hosts “Late Night With Jimmy Fallon” on NBC — sang “You’ll Be Back” on the mixtape.

When Will “The Hamilton Mixtape” Be Released?

Miranda announced during a Periscope session that his latest project will be out in November. He did not get anymore specific.
