Heather Locklear and Jack Wagner have called off their engagement.

Locklear's rep confirmed the news to the New York Daily News.

The two were former Melrose Place co-stars who played on-screen love interest Amanda Woodward and Dr. Peter Burns on the Aaron Spelling '90s primetime drama.

Locklear, 49, and Jack Wagner, 52, reconnect and began a romance in 2007. They announced their engagement in August.

If the engagement wasn't called off, it would have been the Locklear's third marriage. The actress split from Motley Creu drummer Tommy Lee in 1993 after seven years. In 2007, she ended her 13-year marriage to guitarist Richie Sambora.

This isn't the first time that Jack Wagner became engaged to an on-screen love interest. He and his first wife, Kristina Wagner, were love interests on the ABC soap opera General Hospital. They wed in real life in 1993 and divorced in 2006.

Jack Wagner and his first wife share two sons: Peter, 21, and Harrison, 16.
