WARNING: This story contains spoilers from "Heroes Reborn," episode 13.

"Heroes Reborn" came to an end on Thursday when Tommy (Robbie Kay) and Malina (Danika Yarosh) stopped the end of the world from happening. It seemed like this would be the end of the NBC series, that is, until a new storyline emerged in the finale. Although it's been determined that "Heroes Reborn" won't be back for a Season 2, creator Tim Kring said he's open to doing more volumes of the show in the future.

In an interview with TV Insider hours before the finale, Kring said he was aware of the rumors that the show was canceled on NBC. However, he said the way the show came to a close Thursday night was the ending he had all along.

"I’ve also stated that if there was going to be more story, it would not be part of 'Heroes Reborn,' but rather some future volume with a brand new story. Let me just say clearly for the record — the ‘Heroes’ universe is designed to be large and multi-platformed," Kring revealed. "I think you will see that tonight’s final episode clearly leaves the door open for us to tell more stories within the 'Heroes' saga. We would be honored if you came along for that ride with us when we do."

A six-part novella series was released going into "Heroes Reborn" to connect the story of where the original "Heroes" series ended to the events that kicked off "Heroes Reborn." It sounds as though if there won't be another TV show, Kring would be open to telling more stories either through comics, novellas or video games.

On Jan. 13, NBC entertainment chairman Robert Greenblatt said at the Television Critics Association winter press tour that "Heroes Reborn" would not get a second season. He told TVLine that as far as he knew there would be no more installments of "Heroes" unless Kring had more stories to tell. Now that it appears as though Kring does, Greenblatt released a new statement on Thursday to TV Insider where he said "the door remains open to future installments."

In the last seconds of the "Heroes Reborn" finale, Tommy and Malina each found tarot cards with twins on them. Angela Petrelli (Cristine Rose) revealed that the cards meant that their real father was coming back for them, except no one will be able to protect them from him. Their grandfather, Noah Bennet (Jack Coleman) died helping them save the world.

One of the big twists of the series was when it was revealed that Tommy and Malina were Claire Bennet's (Hayden Panettiere) children. However, it was never revealed who their actual father was. Expect the next installment to answer this question and continue the story of Claire's children.
